Aleksander Lobodanov is a professor at Moscow State University, presently the Dean of the Faculty of Arts. Since 2003, he heads the Department of Semiotics and Basic Theory of Fine Arts.
Lobodanov is a leading Russian art theorist and historian who enjoys international recognition. He is a Foreign Member of the Academy of Science of the Institute of Bologna (Italy) and a Fellow of the International Academy of Science and Higher Education (Great Britain). His work has been published in 12 countries, including the United States at Stanford University.
